About EMANA!

This site was developed and hosted by Eritrean Muslims in the Washington, D.C. area* - a non-partisan, non-profit association whose primary goal is to serve community needs of Eritrean Muslims in the Washington Metropolitan area .

Our Mission

• To serve the needs of the Eritrean Muslim community in the Washington, D.C.* area and beyond.
• To educate our community and others about the real teachings of Islam.
• To preserve and promote Islamic values and teachings in the community

Our Vision

We also hope to evolve the site to cover deeper issues as it matures. An effort will be made to reacquaint the Eritrean Muslim with the fundamental concepts of his religion and to engender in him/her a deep appreciation of Islam. We will endeavor to restore the "modernized" or westernized Muslim's confidence in his/her Islamic heritage by presenting the rationality and dynamism of Islam in a manner and terminology familiar to him or her.

The site also seeks to build a bridge of understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims. As Eritrea moves towards a more democratic Government, the need for mutual tolerance becomes crucial. To that end, this site will accept thoughtfully presented articles from both Muslims and non Muslims.
